Airbnb : How to manage your group booking type

Our current integration supports Airbnb activities that use the following group booking types: “Only public groups” and “Only private groups.”

• "Only public groups"

  • Guests can join shared sessions.

  • Anyone can book a spot until the session reaches full capacity.

  • Example: A small group tour of Sydney welcomes multiple guests who book individually.

• "Only private groups"
  • One booking reserves the entire session.
  • No other guests can join that session — it’s dedicated to the person or group who made the booking.
  • Example: When a guest books a private kayaking tour, the full timeslot belongs exclusively to them.

Mapping to Rezdy Product Types

• Map Private Tours or Private Charter product types in Rezdy to group booking type “Only private groups” in Airbnb

• Map all other supported product types in Rezdy to  group booking type “Only public groups” in Airbnb.

Note: The Airbnb group booking type “Public and private groups” is not supported in this integration.

How to manage the group booking types in Airbnb

1. Log in to your Airbnb Host account.

2. Click Switch to Hosting in the top-right corner of the page.

3. Select the Listings tab at the top of the page.

4. Click the Experience (activity) you want to review.

5. In the Listing Editor on the left, scroll to Price and click the section..

6. In the Price per guest section, click the Add icon (+).

7. In the Choose which groups can book window, select Only public groups or Only private groups.

8. When the Switch to ________ groups? confirmation window appears, click Yes, switch.

Note: The group booking type you set in Airbnb automatically matches to a list of Rezdy product with matching product types on the mapping page.

For example:

• If an Airbnb activity uses “Only private groups,” you’ll see matching Private or Charter product types in Rezdy.

• If it uses “Only public groups,” you’ll see all other supported product types.
