Airbnb: How to connect to Airbnb
FollowOverview
Airbnb's core offering has always been accommodation, specifically connecting travellers with hosts who rent out spaces ranging from entire homes and apartments to private rooms in shared homes to boutique accommodations like treehouses, yurts, castles, and houseboats.
With the recent revamp of Experiences and Services, Airbnb now also offers travellers a unique way to explore destinations through the eyes of local experts. These experiences go beyond traditional tours by providing immersive activities led by locals who love what they do and want to share their expertise, culture, and personal stories.
With a global presence in over 220 countries and regions, Airbnb provides operators with access to a vast customer base, resulting in greater visibility, more bookings, and a stronger brand presence.
This article contains a checklist of requirements for connecting your Rezdy account and products to Airbnb. You must meet all of the requirements below to successfully connect.
- Click here for a full list of supported & not supported Rezdy features.
- Rezdy and resellers use different words to describe the same thing. See this page for a Glossary breakdown.
Note: Airbnb is currently onboarding operators with specific requirements. Contact your Airbnb representative if you are waiting for host verification or have submitted activities for processing.
1. Initial setup: What you need to get started
This integration connects Rezdy to a Host account on Airbnb and its activities. Once connected, Rezdy syncs availability to Airbnb and automatically creates bookings in both Airbnb and Rezdy. Some items are not supported — refer to the supported features page for details.
You must:
-
Have an Airbnb Host account.
- If you have already submitted your verification details, Airbnb emails you the next steps once their team completes the review.
- If you do not have a Host account, you can create one here.
- Have at least one activity with LISTED (published) or READY TO PUBLISH status in your Airbnb Host account.
-
Ensure your activity meets the supported configuration:
- The activity is an Experience.
- The activity is set to Public Group only or Private Group only.
- The activity does not have any external calendars connected.
- The product has the same price options as those enabled in Airbnb.
- The account uses the same time zone as your Rezdy account.
- If you have already submitted your activity, Airbnb reviews it and emails you the next steps once the review is complete.
- If you have a Host account but do not yet have an activity, you can set one up here.
Note: Operators new to Airbnb must first complete the Airbnb qualification form. Existing hosts must upgrade to the new Airbnb Experience before connecting their accounts to Rezdy. If you're not sure, log in to your Host account in Airbnb and check your dashboard for any required tasks.
2. Rezdy setup: Connect your Rezdy account to your Airbnb Host account
- In your Rezdy account, go to Marketplace and under Find Agents, search for Airbnb Experience, then select it.
- Select Add Agent.
- On the Airbnb login page, log in to your Airbnb Host account (this step is skipped if you are already signed in to your Airbnb Host account).
- On the Airbnb permissions page, click Allow.
- You have now successfully connected your Rezdy account to your Airbnb Host account.
3. Rezdy setup: Connect your Rezdy products to your Airbnb activities
Step 1 — Map products
- Select Map Products.
- In the left column of the mapping page, you see the list of supported activities from your Airbnb Host account. In the blank text box next to each activity, search for and select your Rezdy product.
- Add your agreed commission next to each matched product.
- If you want to sync your Rezdy product and calendar prices to Airbnb, leave the Price Sync toggle ON.
- Click Confirm selection.
Step 2 — Set up price option mapping
- Click the Pricing tab.
- Match each Rezdy price option on the left to the corresponding Airbnb price option on the right.
- Click Save.
Congratulations! You have now successfully connected your Rezdy products to your Airbnb activities.
After successfully connecting, you authorise Rezdy to manage certain aspects of your mapped product in Airbnb. The following now applies to all mapped products:
- The integration replaces any availability and price previously managed in Airbnb with what is found in your Rezdy calendar.
- Rezdy automatically creates bookings in your Rezdy account for any bookings made after mapping is established.
Note: Once you connect Airbnb to Rezdy: You must manage any bookings made before the mapping directly with Airbnb. You can no longer manage availability directly in Airbnb. If you have the Price Sync toggle ON, Rezdy manages price sync — you cannot update prices directly in Airbnb. Price Sync toggle OFF: Rezdy continues to sync availability but does not sync price values to Airbnb. If you have saved a price option mapping in the Pricing tab, Rezdy still uses that mapping when processing bookings — directing each booking's price option to the matched Airbnb price option — but the price itself is not synced. You need to continue managing pricing directly in your Airbnb Host account. Unsupported price options: If your Rezdy product uses price options that cannot be mapped to the supported Airbnb price options (Adult, Child, Infant), you can still turn the Price Sync toggle on — however, you will not be able to select a price option to map to in the Pricing tab. Availability continues to sync and your product stays bookable.
Tip: Rezdy supports Experiences with per-person pricing using the price options Adult, Child, Infant, and/or Everyone. The integration does not support the Service activity type or the Public and Private Group booking type. Adjust these settings in your Airbnb activities before you map your products.
