How To Set Up Automated Payment Requests
FollowOverview
If you have no upfront charges, or only taking a deposit; you can schedule 3 automated payment requests. This allows your guests to make payment installations via a secure payment link.
There are 3 schedule options to set:
- Amount of days after the order is made.
- Amount of days before the travel date.
- On a specific date: This only applies to custom product settings.
And there are 2 payment options to request:
- Percentage of the order total paid (or remaining balance).
- Fixed amount of the order total paid (or remaining balance). This only applies to custom product settings.
Important: Automated payment requests will only be sent if:
• You have a payment gateway set up and active, click here to learn more.
• The product's scheduling option is set to 'Fixed dates & times' click here to learn more.
Improve email deliverability
If your customers inform you that your emails are falling in to spam/junk folders, or completely blocked (due to DMARC policies), you can set a Rezdy owned domain as your 'From' email address. This will ensure your emails are being delivered to your customers' inbox.
Customise the email subject
By using the shortcodes, you can personalise the subject line of your payment request emails to better suit your business brand.
For example:
Hi {{CUSTOMER_FIRST_NAME}}, Your order {{ORDER_NUMBER}} has a payment of ({{ORDER_AMOUNT_DUE}}) outstanding.
will look like:
Hi John, Your order RZ00231 has a payment of $50 outstanding.

Payment settings

- Enter the percentage of the total Order amount you want your customer to pay.
- Enter the amount of days before tour date/after order date.
You may not need to use all 3 automated request emails to ensure your customers pay the entire balance. If you only use the 1st or 2nd; make sure the final automated request is configured to 100 % of the order total paid.
This means the remaining unpaid balance of the order will be requested, regardless of any previously made payments.

How to set up product specific requests
At the top of the template page, click the Configure Products button:
Within the Configure Products window:
- Tick the Automated Payment Request box.
- Click the Customise button to set up product specific settings.
- For the requested amounts, select between:
- Percentage of order total amount: Allows you to request a percentage amount of the order total. Enter the percentage amount.
- Fixed amount per order: Allows you to request a specific dollar amount of the order total. Enter a specific dollar amount, must be a whole number e.g. 50.
- For the requested date, select between:
- Days before tour date: This will trigger an email X amount of days before the start of the tour/activity.
- Days after order date: This will trigger an email X amount of days after the order was created.
- Specific date: This will trigger an email on the date specified. This follows the Coordinated Universal Time or UTC Timezone.
Note: In the above example, all products are enabled to have an automated payment request sent. However, only the Korean Seoul Food product will use custom settings, the other 2 products will use the main template settings.
Orders with multiple products
Payment requests can be configured per product (as mentioned above), however the requested amount is based on the order total.
When an order has 2 or more products, and each of those products have customised payment settings (as per the below screenshot); it will look to the greatest amount requested, in this case 100%, and use those custom settings for the 1st payment request. All other customised settings will be ignored.
Note: This means an order can only have a maximum of 3 automated payment requests, regardless of the number of products within an order.
