How To Create Promo Codes

Overview

Use promo codes for promotions, packages, or to entice customers to return by offering discounts. There are several code configuration levels, including restrictions on travel dates, redemption limits, and discounts offered as a percentage or a fixed value.

Create a new promo code

1. Click Inventory.
2. Select Promo Codes.
3. Click the New Promo Code button.

Configure promo code settings

Within the new promo code window:

1. Code: Enter a unique code, only alphanumeric characters, e.g., mycode10.
   • Applied once per:
     • Order: Discount applies only once per order.
     • Product: Discount applies once per eligible product (e.g., a booking with multiple products).
     • Quantity: Discount applies once for each eligible quantity (e.g., Adult, Child).
2. Validity Date (optional): The period during which to use the code. Leaving the date blank creates an open-ended promo code. 

• E.g., From: 1st Dec To: 31st Dec: This example means the promo code can only be redeemed (or used) during December.

3. Travel Date (optional): Use this option to determine the travel date when customers can redeem the promo code. Leaving this option blank creates an open-ended promo code. 

• E.g., From: 31st Dec To: 31st Dec: This example means customers can redeem the promo code for a travel date that starts on New Year's Eve.

4. Can only be redeemed on (optional): Use this option to specify which days of the week customers can redeem this promo code. Leave all days unchecked to allow redemptions for all travel days.

• In the example below, this promo code is redeemable only for activities that start on the 20th Dec to the 9th Jan, and it is further restricted to Monday to Thursday only.
  
  
  
  Note: Promo code redemption days are available only on Foundation, Accelerate, and Expansion plans (Volume plans included).

5. Redemption Limit: Select either 'limited' or 'unlimited'.
6. Min Amount: The promo code is valid only for orders over this amount.
7. Taxes & Fees: If checked, the system calculates taxes on the discounted amount. If not checked, the system calculates taxes on the full amount rather than the discounted amount.
8. Extras: If checked, the discount applies to the extra amount. If not checked, the discount applies to the product amount.
9. Internal: Internal codes are hidden from customers. The codes apply to internal orders, but they are not visible in emails.
   
   
    
10. Value:

• Fixed amount for one product: The promo code applies as a payment method for a specific product and a fixed amount.
• Fixed amount for any product: The promo code applies a fixed amount as a payment method for the entire shopping cart.
• Fixed amount for any product within a category: The promo code applies as a payment method for a fixed amount and limits its usage to a specific category.
• % discount for one product: The promo code offers a percentage discount on a specific product.
• % discount for any product: The promo code offers a percentage discount on the whole shopping cart.
• % discount for any product within a category: The promo code applies a percentage discount and limits its usage to a specific category.

11. Internal Notes: Add any internal notes.
12. Click the Create promo code button when done.
    
    

Can I restrict the promo code to specific quantities?

Yes, you can restrict promo codes to discount only specific quantities, e.g., Adult.

1. Value: Select either the Fixed amount for one product or % discount for one product options and enter the discount.
2. Product: Select the applicable product.
3. Apply Discount To: Select Only to: and choose the appropriate quantity.
