How To Create a Rental Product
FollowOverview
The rental product type is useful when you have equipment or vehicles that are hired by the hour or day, such as Kayaks, Bikes, and other vehicles.
This article only discusses the following sections:
- Details tab - Product Pricing & Quantities.
- Scheduling tab - Duration & Allow spanning.
These settings differ from other product types. For information on any other tab or sections, please click here to learn more.
Details Tab
Product Pricing:
There are several ways to configure the pricing for a rental product. Click here to see some common pricing examples below.
- Select Product Pricing:
- By Day - if you charge by the day.
- By Hour - if you charge by the hour.
- By Minute - if you charge by the minute.
- Enter Min: Enter the minimum day/hour/minute duration.
- Enter Max: Enter the maximum day/hour/minute duration
- Enter Price.
- Select from:
- Per Day/Hour/Minute: if this price is for a single day/hour/minute.
-
Total: if this price is for the entire duration.
- Quantity:
- Select Quantity not required if you don't want your customers to enter quantities during the booking process. For example, if the product uses a specific resource, such as a boat or a car, and there is only 1 to rent per day, hour, or minute.
- Select Quantity required if you need the customer quantities. For example, if you have a maximum of 8 Motorbikes to rent per session.
- Quantity label: Enter the label for your quantities. This information is displayed to your Customers online.
Scheduling Tab
Duration:
- Select Any duration: enter the Min and Max settings.
- Select Choose from a list: enter the label/s and hours to build a list.
Keep scrolling for examples of when to use either of these options.
Note: The Min and Max settings depend on the min and max settings from the Details tab. For example, if you price your product by the hour (Min 1 - Max 8), your Duration settings on the Scheduling tab must match that range.
Allow spanning:
Tick this option if you have gaps between your sessions but want to allow bookings during these periods. For example, if you have hourly sessions from 9 am to 5 pm, and you want to allow multi-day bookings.

There are 2 ways to display the duration of your products to Customers booking online.
