How to Import & Setup External QR Codes
FollowOverview
Rezdy supports external QR Codes generated by a 3rd-party or POS system. Your customers present their Rezdy confirmations, and your POS/entry system directly scans and checks them in at the participant level.
QR Codes are also distributed to OTAs like Viator (Expedia coming soon!) and populated in their own confirmation vouchers/emails. Please contact Rezdy Support for further assistance.
Note: You must have a 3rd-party system to generate and scan external QR Codes. Using the Rezdy App to scan external QR codes does not work.
Step 1: Import external QR codes
On the External QR Codes page, click the button in the top-right corner.
Important: When entering codes, please use only alphanumeric (letters & numbers) characters. Spaces and special characters are not supported.
- Enter codes, making sure to enter 1 code per line.
- Choose a Category name.
- The categories link to a product's price point, ensuring the naming convention closely matches your pricing options (see the product setup below).
- Optional: Enter Internal notes.
- Click Import codes.
Step 2: Set up external QR codes
Within a product's setup page:
- Click Messages.
- Select Notifications.
- Tick the Show an external QR Code box.
- Link each QR Category created (during the above Step 1) to the Product's price options.
- Click Save Product.
Manually generating external QR codes with an internal order
With an online order, the QR codes auto-generate and link to each pricing option. Within an order:
- Enter the Quantities.
- Complete the Participants section.
- In this example, Participant 1 is a Bronze Ticket, Participant 2 is a Silver Ticket.
- In this example, Participant 1 is a Bronze Ticket, Participant 2 is a Silver Ticket.
- Select Create Order.
You notice the participant label matches the price points and the barcodes generated when a customer creates an order.
We email your customers a unique QR Code per participant:
Note: You receive 2 email notifications when you are running low on available QR codes. The system sends the first when there are 20 (or fewer) remaining, and the system sends the second when there are no more codes available.
