How To Create a Category

Overview

Categories allow you to display and organise your products into groups for convenient navigation for your customers.

Creating a new category

• Click Inventory.
• Select Categories.
• Click the New category button.

Within the new category window

• Enter a Name for the category.
• Enter an SEO Description.
• Tick the Search Engine Indexing box to prevent the category page from being indexed by search engines, e.g., https://myrezdyurl.rezdy.com/catalog/1234/my-category.
• Rel Canonical URL: enter the URL that you would prefer to be ranked for this category, e.g., https://mywebsite/my-category.

Note: There is no set time for search engines, like Google, to initially rank or index/deindex a website. A site can be crawled/indexed within 4 days to 4 weeks. In some cases, it may take longer.

• Select the Products.
• Click Save category.

Once you've saved the category, you can navigate to the categories list and select to make it private or public by ticking the Public visibility tick box.

 

Ticking Public visibility will ensure the category appears on your booking form link as a tab.

Not ticking Public visibility will remove the category from the booking form tabs and appear on its own.
