Sharing Resources Across Multiple Product Sessions
FollowOverview
There are several ways to manage your online availability in Rezdy. Ranging from a basic fixed limit per session to a more advanced resource configuration.
This article demonstrates how to maximise your online exposure, allowing you to advertise more products and tours, while automatically reducing availability across all sessions as soon as a customer makes a booking.
Examples of shared resources
These examples demonstrate how you can use resources to maximise your online exposure, and are suitable for the following business types:
- Day Tours.
- Multi-day Tours.
- Guided Tours & Activities.
- Bus Tours.
- Wineries.
- Cooking Classes.
- Flight Tours.
- Private Tours.
Here is an example of a resource shared across two separate tours that start at the same time (or overlap). Below are the 3 resource configurations, and examples of how a booking can affect the availability for all sessions.
Three resource configurations
1. Shared resource As soon as you make a booking, the system shares and updates capacity across all sessions until it reaches the limit. Example: A bus you use for 2 different tours at the same time.
2. Reserved resource As soon as you make a booking, the system reserves the resource’s capacity for that session only and makes all other sessions unavailable. Example: An instructor who runs 1 class at a time.
3. Private resource As soon as you make a booking, the system marks the booked session as full and makes all other sessions unavailable. Example: A helicopter you use for private flights.
Product configuration
To assign resources to your product sessions, set up your product's scheduling options as follows.
Within a product's configuration page:
- Click the Scheduling tab.
- Set Dates available to Fixed dates & times.
- Set Availability to Limited - by resources per session.
Tip: You can still assign resources to a product's session using other Availability options, e.g., Limited - Fixed limit per session.

Assigning resources to sessions
You can assign resources to a session in the order that best suits your operations. As you or customers create bookings, they use capacity from the first resource, then move to the next resource until it reaches capacity.
This method is useful if you want to fill a specific resource first. For example, below: The system assigns the resource with the highest capacity (Big Bus) first, so all bookings go to this resource when created, and then move to the next resource.
Because the resources share the same type, Vehicle, the system adds each resource’s capacity together, so you can assign another resource of the same type to increase the session’s total capacity when needed.
