Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
FollowOverview
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second check to your Rezdy sign in. After you enter your email and password, Rezdy emails a six-digit verification code to your sign-in address. You enter that code to finish signing in.
This keeps your account safe even if your password is guessed, shared, or stolen. Your bookings, customer records, and payment settings are only reachable by someone who also has your email inbox.
You can turn 2FA on for your own login, and an Owner user can turn it on for everyone in your company account.
Note: Rezdy sends verification codes by email. Authenticator apps, SMS, and WhatsApp are not available.
Getting Started
Before getting started you will need:
1. Access to the inbox of the email address you use to sign in to Rezdy.
2. An Owner user login, if you want to turn 2FA on for everyone in your company account.
Turning on 2FA for your own login
1. Click the name of your User at the top right.
2. Click My Profile.
3. Switch on Turn on 2FA.
2FA applies from your next sign in. Your current session is not ended.
If you use the same credentials to access more than one Rezdy account, you are asked for a code when you sign in to any of them.
Turning on 2FA for everyone in your company account
Note: You must be an Owner user to change this setting.
1. Click Settings.
2. Select Company Profile.
3. Switch on Two-factor authentication.
4. Click Save company.
Every user in the account is asked for a verification code the next time they sign in. Nobody is signed out when you turn the setting on.
While the company setting is on, individual users cannot turn 2FA off for themselves. Only an Owner user can turn it off, and turning it off removes the requirement for everyone in the account.
What signing in with 2FA looks like
1. Enter your Email and Password, then click the Sign In button.
2. Rezdy emails a six-digit verification code to that email address.
3. Enter the code on the verification screen.
4. Click Submit. You land in your Rezdy account as usual.
Note: The code is only valid for 10 minutes. If it expires before you use it, click Resend code and enter the new one. There is a short cooldown between resends.
Who controls the setting
2FA can be switched on in three places, with a three-tier enforcement hierarchy:
| Turned on by | Where | Applies to | Can an individual user turn it off for themselves? |
|---|---|---|---|
| You | My Profile | Your own login, access every Rezdy account you access | Yes |
| An Owner user | Settings > Company Profile | Every user in the company account | No |
| Rezdy Customer Care | Your user record | Your own login, across every Rezdy account you access | Yes |
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to sign in again as soon as 2FA is turned on?
No, you are not signed out. You are asked for a verification code the next time you sign in, once your current session expires. Sessions expire after 24 hours by default.
Where is my verification code sent?
To the email address you use to sign in to Rezdy. It is the same address shown on your My Profile page.
My code has not arrived. What should I do?
Check your spam or junk folder first, then click Resend code on the verification screen. If it still does not arrive, contact Customer Care.
What happens if I enter the wrong code too many times?
Your account is locked after five incorrect attempts. Wait, then try again with a new code.
Does 2FA apply to Google sign ins?
Yes, 2FA applies to Google logins.
Can I use an authenticator app, SMS, or WhatsApp instead?
Not at this time. Rezdy sends verification codes by email.
