New Release - 10 Sep 2016 - QR Code Scanner and Check In Improvements
FollowWe're happy to announce a new QR Code Scanning feature in Rezdy which allows you to easily and quickly check in customers from both the Mobile Manifest and Desktop Manifest. From the Mobile Manifest, you can scan QR codes using your phone while on the go, and from the Desktop Manifest with a QR code scanning device connected to a computer.
Note: You must enable the QR code to be displayed within the Order Notification emails prior to being able to scan QR codes. Click here to see how to enable QR codes for Order Notification emails.
Mobile Manifest
Using the Mobile Manifest, you can easily scan QR codes using your phones inbuilt camera to check in customers.
Note: QR code scanning from the Mobile Manifest is currently supported on iOS and Android devices with an inbuilt camera and you must have installed either of the following code scanning apps:
- pic2shop for iOS devices
- Barcode Scanner for Android devices
To scan a QR code, simply open the Rezdy Mobile Manifest and tap the QR SCAN button
Locate and scan the QR code. QR codes can be either printed or displayed on another device
The order will then be automatically checked in and the Mobile Manifest will then update accordingly
Desktop Manifest
From the Desktop Manifest you can now scan QR codes using a QR code scanning device connected to your computer to automatically check in customers.
To scan a QR code, head to the Desktop Manifest and ensure your QR code scanner is connected and working. Scan the code with the scanner and the customers are automatically checked-in. You can confirm they have been checked in by the green alert message (if they are already checked in, this will show as red).
If for some reason the scanner fails to recognise the code, you can now check in customer simply by entering their order number here:
Further Check In Improvements
We've made many other improvements to help you keep on track of which customers are checked in and which are a no show. On top of automatically checking in with the QR code scanner you can also manually check in customers or mark as a no show on the Mobile Manifest and now on the Desktop Manifest.
This has also been added to the order page too so you can mark as checked in or no show from there.
Finally, once the order has been checked in or marked as a now show, this is reflected everywhere including both the Mobile Manifest and Desktop Manifest, the order page and the order list.
We released QR code scanning into BETA so we can get feedback from our amazing customers to make it even better. We'd love to hear what you think and how it can be improved to better suit your business needs. Stay tuned for more updates coming to QR code scanning.
