How To Create a Category

Overview

Categories allow you to display and organise your products into groups for convenient navigation for your customers.

Creating a new category

1. Click Inventory 
2. Click Categories 
3. Select New category

Within the New category window

• Enter a Name for the category
• Enter an SEO Description
• Tick the Search Engine Indexing box to tell search engines not to index/deindex this category e.g. https://myrezdyurl.rezdy.com/catalog/1234/my-category
• Rel Canonical URL: enter the URL that you would prefer to be ranked for this category e.g. https://mywebsite/my-category

Note: there is no set time for search engines, like Google, to initially rank or index/deindex a website. It is possible for a site to be crawled/indexed within 4 days to 4 weeks. In some cases, it may take longer.

• Tick the Public box if you want it visible to customers
• Select the Products
• Click Save category
